In our present study, diabetic mice overexpressing Nr2f2 showed obvious ferroptosis and an enhanced oxidative stress response in heart tissue, including upregulated NRF2/HO-1 gene expression, which is involved in the intracellular iron metabolism and ferroptosis in doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy [8, 30, 31]. This evidence concerns the gene NR2F2 and cardiomyopathy.
