Culturing ovarian granulosa cells isolated from women with PCOS were treated in vitro with different concentrations of sRAGE, and the results showed that VEGF mRNA and protein levels decreased in a dose-dependent fashion in these cells compared with control ovarian granulosa cells (cells not exposed to sRAGE), this effect was most likely via the PI3K/AKT/SP1 signaling pathway [49,53]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and polycystic ovary syndrome.
