BGLAP and osteoporosis: In women affected by osteoporosis, combined therapy with CU at 110 mg/day and an alendronate at 5 mg/day for six months decreased their level of bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP) and c-terminal cross-linking telopeptide of type I collagen (CTx), significantly, and increased their osteocalcin levels when compared to the baseline and alendronate group.
