INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: In conclusion, date fruit and raisins showed no improvements in insulin resistance, insulin sensitivity, beta cell function, or glycemic control, though it was reassuring that neither 60 g daily of date fruit nor raisins had a deleterious effect on glycemic control over a 12-week period, thereby indicating their safety in T2D; however, no beneficial effects of date fruit on other cardiovascular indices in T2D were seen.
