In univariate Cox analyses, we identified that four baseline features were significantly associated with organ damage progression (Table S5), including anemia at the baseline (HR = 1.59, 95% CI 1.07 to 2.36, p = 0.022), ESR elevation (HR = 1.54, 95% CI 1.03 to 2.31, p = 0.036), CRP elevation (HR = 1.74, 95% CI 1.12 to 2.69, p = 0.014), and the presence of an anti-Scl-70 autoantibody (HR = 1.53, 95% CI 1.00 to 2.34, p = 0.048). This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and anemia (phenotype).
