NDUFV1 and Parkinson disease: Based on these studies, we chose SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells treated with MPP+ (1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium) [21], a mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I inhibitor, as a neurotoxin cell model of PD, to initially investigate the function of TMEM166 in PD-associated oxidative stress and to explore its relationship with mitochondrial function.
