Cell cycle checkpoint kinase inhibitors are being explored clinically in gynaecological cancer including the ATR inhibitor, AZD6738 [19] and the WEE1 inhibitor AZD1775 (formerly MK-1775) [20] is currently being evaluated in combination with cisplatin and radiotherapy in cervical, and other cancers in a Phase 1 trial [20].
