PARP1 and Sepsis: Interestingly, a caspase-resistant PARP1 impairs NF-κB-mediated transcription activity and proinflammatory cytokine production in response to LPS-induced sepsis and intestinal and renal ischemia-reperfusions [121], indicating that PARP1 cleavage at the DNA-binding domain is involved in NF-κB transcription activation.
