One of the studies that was done by our group showed that the thyroid cancers with BRAF V600E, RET::PTC1 and TERT promoter mutations were associated with higher risk of aggressive features (65.7%) when compared to the thyroid cancers with NRAS, HRAS, KRAS, BRAF K601E and PAX8::PPARG molecular alterations and thyroid cancers with no mutation, which were associated with 21.7% and 11.1% risk of aggressive features, respectively [82]. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and thyroid cancer.
