Further analysis of the DNA microarray data using Ingenuity software (IPA, Qiagen), this time including genes significantly regulated in at least two of the employed ovarian cancer cell lines, not only revealed the chemerin-induced up-regulation of additional IFNα responsive genes (e.g., MX1 and IRF7) but also confirmed a network of induced genes connected with tumor growth inhibition in a more general, not cell-line-specific, manner (Figure 9). This evidence concerns the gene IFNA1 and ovarian carcinoma.
