As shown in Figure 2A, TEM image analysis revealed that native HDL3 showed a distinct shape and particle morphology (photo a), while CML treated HDL3 (photo b) showed a more aggregated and ambiguous particle morphology, indicating that the crosslinking and amyloidogenesis of HDL and apoA-I also occurred by the CML treatment.
