The HFD-induced fatty liver showed an increased expression of lipid synthesis-related genes, such as sterol regulatory element-binding protein (Srebf), fatty acid synthase (Fasn), diacylglyceride acyl transferase (Dgat), stearoyl-CoA desaturase (Scd), and acetyl-CoA carboxylase alpha (Acaca), whereas the expression of the FAO-related genes, such as proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARa), medium-chain acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase (Acadm), and carnitine palmitoyl transferase I b (Cpt1b) was unchanged (Figure 6B,C). This evidence concerns the gene ACADM and fatty liver disease.
