Particularly, one subpopulation of fibroblasts, lipofibroblasts, which express FGF10 and lipid droplets, were demonstrated to beneficially impact on the development of lung epithelium [124,125], whereas myofibroblasts marked by actin alpha 2 (ACTA2) expression may be associated with BPD [126].
