TREM2 and Alzheimer disease: Interestingly, the NSAID derivative, and γ-secretase modulator, CHF5074 has shown promise in cell and rodent models of AD; CHF5074 treatment suppressed expression of pro-inflammatory markers (TNF, IL-1β, and iNOS), increased expression of anti-inflammatory markers (MRC1/CD206 and TREM2), and demonstrated favorable reductions in plaque and NFT formation, neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and cognitive deficit [107–111].
