In the analysis that included stage II CRC with normal preoperative CEA only, the 3-year RFS was 69.0% (59.7%-79.9%) vs. 85.5% (83.6%-87.3%) in patients with elevated vs. normal CA19-9 (unadjusted HR: 2.56, 95% CI: 1.72–3.83, P < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and colorectal carcinoma.
