SIRT1 is involved in various neurodegenerative diseases, including PD, Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as AD.[8, 12, 14] Thus, SIRT1 may become a novel pharmacological target for neurodegenerative disease, in modulating specific cellular processes leading to the decrease of Aß expression in the brain.[8, 12, 14] We suggest that our hyperglycemic NV chip is suitable for the neurodegenerative pharmaceutic research by reflecting in vivo characteristics in response to the diabetic microenvironment. The gene discussed is SIRT1; the disease is neurodegenerative disease.
