SIRT1 and tauopathy: Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), an NAD+‐dependent deacetylase, is among the candidate molecular mechanisms[2b] known to play a role in BBB permeability,[6] and the regulation of SIRT1 also ameliorates amyloidogenic processes and tauopathy.[8] However, how SIRT1 regulates hyperglycemia‐induced endothelial injury and neurodegenerative process remains to be elucidated.
