In a phase II multicenter basket trial, patients with advanced BRAF-V600E-mutated rare cancers, including biliary tract cancer, were treated with the BRAF inhibitor dabrafenib in combination with the MEK inhibitor trametinib (20), and encouraging antitumor effects, including 36% of cases achieving partial responses, a median progression-free survival of 9.2 months, and an overall survival of 11.7 months, were noticed (20). Here, BRAF is linked to biliary tract neoplasm.
