In this study, increased levels of complement proteins were found in women with PCOS, with eight upregulated proteins clustered into a large group of complement proteins (C5, C6, C7, C8A, C8B, C8G, complement factor B, and complement factor H), indicating the distinct regulation of the complement cascade in the FF of PCOS. The gene discussed is C8A; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
