β-arrestin1 (ARRB1) regulated the metabolic preference of bladder cancer stem cells and functioned as a molecular switch which promoted reprogramming towards glycolysis by negatively regulating mitochondrial pyruvate carrier 1 (MPC1) and positively regulating GLUT1 along with glucose uptake (Mamouni et al., 2021). Here, MPC1 is linked to urinary bladder carcinoma.
