Miyake et al. introduced CLU complementary DNA into human renal cell carcinoma cells, which do not express a detectable level of clusterin expression, and their findings suggest that clusterin overexpression prolongs cell survival under unfavorable conditions in the metastatic process, resulting in the enhanced metastatic potential of renal cell carcinoma, which confirms the positive effect of clusterin on neoplastic cell migration [52]. This evidence concerns the gene CLU and renal cell carcinoma.
