Interestingly, administration of low-dose SPL attenuated insulin resistance (Fig. 1a), hyperinsulinemia (Fig. 1b) and hyperandrogenism (Fig. 1c) with corresponding decrease in adipose tissue inflammation (NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-6) (Fig. 4) and oxidative stress as well as improvement in antioxidant capacity (Fig. 3) and adipose lipid metabolism (Fig. 2) in PCOS animals compared with untreated PCOS group. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is hyperinsulinism.
