Alterations in both GSH and Gpx4 levels are known to accompany a variety of clinical conditions including TB, and in some cases they are associated with decreased host resistance (Amaral et al., 2016; Guerra et al., 2011; Maiorino et al., 2018; Smulan et al., 2021; Stockwell et al., 2020; Venketaraman et al., 2008; Venketaraman et al., 2006). The gene discussed is GPX4; the disease is tuberculosis.
