In a post hoc analysis from the primary prevention JUPITER (Justification for the Use of Statins in Prevention: An Intervention Trial Evaluating Rosuvastatin) trial, it was shown that even in patients with very low LDL-C levels (54 mg/dl) but still an elevated ASCVD risk due to increased CRP levels at baseline, Lp(a) plasma levels were also associated with an important residual ASCVD risk [25].
