MICAL2 and gastric cancer: Instead, siRNA-mediated depletion of MICAL2 led to a significant reduction in β-catenin nuclear content and a decrease in the migratory ability of gastric cancer cells, effects that were significantly attenuated by pre-treatment with LiCl, which is known to activate Wnt signaling by inhibiting GSK3β and consequently stabilizing free cytosolic β-catenin.
