The levels of biomarkers of myocardial injury, including creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LHD), high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI), and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) (p = 0.0062, 0.0012, and 0.0013, respectively) were also higher in the obesity group, indicating the potential of myocardial damage and fibrosis in the heart of children with obesity (Figure 3 and Table 5).
