BRAF and hypopituitarism: Recent data suggest that germline activating BRAF mutations may lead to an abnormal differentiation of pituitary hormone-producing cells in the progenitors of the pituitary gland with postnatal hypopituitarism, suggesting a biological role of the MAPK pathway in the etiology of pituitary hormone deficiencies, and a biological link between congenital forms of human hypopituitarism and RASopathies (51).
