In another animal experiment, the middle cerebral artery occlusion method was performed to establish a mouse cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model, and it was found that the expression of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) in the brain tissue of the model mouse was downregulated and induced the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and the subsequent maturation, and the release of IL-18 eventually led to neuronal apoptosis. Here, IL18 is linked to brain ischemia.
