Interestingly, when we explored the co-expression of NLGN1 with a series of proteins of the WNT pathway (Supplementary Table S2) in both the TCGA, PanCancer Atlas- Colorectal Adenocarcinoma dataset, and our internal cell line expression database [28] we found that CXXC4 (a negative regulator of the WNT signaling pathway via its interaction with DVL), and FZD1 (a 7-transmembrane domain protein that is a receptor for WNT ligands) were significantly correlated with NLGN1, potentially suggesting their cooperation at the membrane and β-cat destruction complex levels. Here, NLGN1 is linked to colorectal adenocarcinoma.
