STAT3 activation in cellular senescence was also found in an in vivo system in which bone marrow-mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients exhibited characteristics of senescence, abnormal activation of JAK2-STAT3 signaling, and upregulated phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3, and inhibition of JAK2-STAT3 improved BM-MSC senescence [60]. Here, JAK2 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
