PALB2 and breast carcinoma: Two large population‐based, case–control studies published in early 2021 did not find an association between germline NBN mutations and breast cancer risk, in contrast, the odds ratios reported for PALB2 mutations ranged from 3.83 to 8.04, depending on family history of breast cancer (Breast Cancer Association Consortium, 2021; Hu, 2021).
