Patients who developed a delirium had lower CRP levels at admission (70 [IQR 35–119] vs. 89 [IQR 40–152] mg/L p = 0.04), a higher creatinine level at admission (98 [IQR 75–134] vs. 87 [71–118] μmol/L, p = 0.02), and a shorter duration of symptoms pre‐admission (5 [IQR 3–8] vs. 7 [4–11] days p = 0.002). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is delirium.
