SIRT1 and kidney disorder: Notably, recent studies have shown that acetylation has emerged as an important regulatory mechanism of autophagy, and that acetylation not only regulates autophagy-related proteins but also affects autophagic function through the regulation of histones and transcription factors, indicating that deacetylation of sirt1 plays an important role in kidney disease, especially in autophagy (Xu and Wan, 2022).
