We excluded 6,613 (4.45%) with a diagnosis of other diabetes, 4,297 (2.89%) with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, 3,622 (2.44%) aged less than 30 or missing age info at baseline, 17,244 (11.60%) who are clearly observable for drugs in the one-year period after diagnosis and have insulin prescribed in that period, 23,295 (15.67%) with a diagnosis of cardiovascular disease at baseline, and 8,923 (6.00%) with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes before January 1, 2008.
