Initial studies on miR‐29 underexpression in AML showed that it targets protein kinase b (Akt2) and cyclin‐D2 protein, along with a negative feed‐back loop of MYC proto‐oncogene (c‐Myc)‐Akt2 onmiR‐29. This evidence concerns the gene AKT2 and acute myeloid leukemia.
