MTOR and cancer: It was found to modulate the important cell signaling pathways such as phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB), Janus kinases (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) which play a critical role in regulating the processes involved in the initiation, development, and progression of cancer.
