Kishikawa et al. [25] have found that CA125, as a glycoprotein involved in the protection of cell function and lubrication, is often found in normal tissues such as ovarian epithelium and thoracoabdominal membrane and has an abnormally high expression in the serum of endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, and other tumors, which is a common tumor marker. The gene discussed is MUC16; the disease is cervical cancer.
