Gene-based analyses (i.e., MAGAMA and SMR) in Europeans and East Asians consistently identified the ANKFY1 gene as being significantly associated with the cross-trait shared architecture of T2D and PAD in both Europeans (p-valueMAGAMA = 3.28 × 10−7; βSMR = 0.44, p-valueSMR = 1.18 × 10−5) and East Asians (p-valueMAGAMA = 6.90 × 10−4; βSMR = 0.42, p-valueSMR = 1.83 × 10−4). This evidence concerns the gene ANKFY1 and peripheral arterial disease.
