Indeed, the activation of the angiogenetic pathway and the presence of an impairment between angiogenesis and angiostasis involving vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signalling have been already described in sarcoidosis [28–30].These findings might corroborate the angiogenetic impairment as a pathophysiological aspect of the disease and as reactive to the capillary number reduction. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and sarcoidosis.
