The mean values of renal TNF-α were significantly higher in the MetS group than in the control group (487.1 ± 50.8 vs. 124.3 ± 9.9 pg/mL, respectively, P < 0.001), whereas they were significantly lower in MetS + DIZE group animals than in MetS group rats (248 ± 12.9 pg/mL, P < 0.001). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
