The systematic review of Black et al., 2018 (Black and Horowitz, 2018) examined 73 studies published between 1998 and 2016 and revealed that some inflammatory markers such as IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, and C-reactive protein may be useful for identifying women at risk of developing preeclampsia, in agreement with the results of our meta-analysis. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is preeclampsia.
