IFNG and infection: Representative images revealed a significantly higher recruitment of neutrophils along with few DCs, as the first cells to arrive at the site of infection (FP) approximately 3 h p.i. While recruited neutrophils took up parasites and thus exhibited significant mCherry internalization, DCs appeared practically uninfected, and the injected mChLgyLRV1+ parasites mostly appeared as flagellated extracellular promastigotes in the FP of infected Ifng−/− mice at 3 h p.i (Figure 7A).
