In rats with experimental AD without treatment, a statistically significant decrease in the activity of mitochondrial enzymes was observed (Table 4) in relation to SO rats, while the activity of citrate synthase decreased by 65.2% ( P<0.05), aconitase by 38.4% ( P<0.05), succinate dehydrogenase by 51.2% (P<0.05), and cytochrome c-oxidase by 43.8% (P<0.05). This evidence concerns the gene CS and Alzheimer disease.
