Several clinical trials with the aim to improve the survival of AML patients are ongoing, with immune-based therapeutic modalities such as monoclonal antibodies, T cell engagers, adoptive T-cell therapy, adoptive-NK therapy, checkpoint blockade via PD-1/PD-L1, CTLA4, and newer target such as TIM3 (Isidori et al., 2021). Here, CTLA4 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
