DNM2 and cancer: Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein and a member of cytoskeletal proteins. TGF-β1 drives vimentin activation, which plays a key role in the cytoskeleton remodeling and mobility during EMT (9). Recent studies have found that vimentin can be detected in many types of cancers, including lung, colon, cervical and prostatic cancers, and the expression of vimentin is highly correlated with extent of these tumors (8, 10–12).
