Studies have shown that NKp46 is required for expression of the apoptosis-inducing ligand TRAIL on NK cells and ILC1s in mice, and genetic deficiency of NKp46 impairs tumor clearance (169–174), thereby implicating a role for NKp46-mediated activation of NK cells and ILC1s in tumor immunosurveillance. This evidence concerns the gene NCR1 and neoplasm.
