It was suggested that ZDHHC20 mutants in melanoma cells reduce palmitoylation of melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM) and impair the MCAM ability to inhibit cell invasion, whereas Wnt5a promotes depalmitoylation of MCAM at Cys590 via phosphorylated APT1 [70]; APT1 inhibition with Palm‐B prevents Wnt5a‐induced depalmitoylation, asymmetric MCAM localization, and cell invasion [71].
