Pre-COVID-19 glucose-lowering therapy in T2DM was differently associated with death outcomes (OR): 0.61 (95% CI: 0.59–0.62) for metformin, 0.59 (95% CI: 0.57–0.61) for DPP-4 inhibitors, 0.46 (95% CI: 0.44–0.49) for SGLT2 inhibitors, 0.38 (95% CI: 0.29–0.51) for arGLP-1, 1.34 (95% CI: 1.31–1.37) for SU, and 1.47 (95% CI: 1.43–1.51) for insulin therapy (Figure 3). The gene discussed is SLC5A2; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
