TNNI3 and acute coronary syndrome: In the HiSTORIC trial (20, 22) – a stepped-wedge cluster RCT that evaluated the implementation of a hs-cTnI assay in 31,493 patients presenting with suspected acute coronary syndrome across 10 secondary and tertiary hospitals in Scotland – all-cause mortality was > 5% and the reattendance rate was about 39% at 1 year, independent of the standard-care or early rule-out pathways used.
