EGFR and polyp: These two bacteria play an important role in promoting cell proliferation and inhibiting cell apoptosis by activating epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It can also activate nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidases (NOXs) to cataly the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and then promote cell migration and proliferation, resulting in local endometrial hyperplasia and polyp formation (202).
