IgE-mediated allergy causes immediate symptoms (anaphylaxis, acute urticaria, vomiting, rhinitis, laryngeal edema, wheezing, acute asthma attack), whereas late-onset symptoms (atopic dermatitis, chronic diarrhea, hematochezia, chronic vomiting, iron deficiency anemia, weight loss) indicate non-IgE mediated allergy; mixed forms can also be often observed symptoms (5, 22, 27). This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and Iron deficiency anemia.
